This book is a first edition of the work and is labeled as a "containing a key for each season and short descriptions of over two hundred and fifty species with particular reference to their appearance in the field" & "with four full-page plates and nearly one hundred cuts in the text."
 
Measures 7 1/2" x 5 1/4" x 1". Hardcover. Some marking from library reference on spine and in pencil on a couple pages. All text and illustrations legible. Some browning along edges of pages, some wear on cover, and some moisture damaged (wrinkled) pages, but overall a lovely piece to add to any collection.
